What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid. Its normal liquid form is turned into a gel injection to help plump out facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face. The filler works by adding volume to the skin, smoothing lines and plumping areas that have lost shape or definition.

How Is Dermal Filler different to Botox?

The difference between the two are, Botox treats the “muscle” that contracts causing the lines that we get, whereas a Dermal Filler will fill out those lines and creases. Both treatments work very well together.

How long Is the procedure?

Treatment takes approximately 90 minutes but this can depend. When you arrive a topical numbing cream will be applied to the area being treated for 30 minutes. The actual treatment can range anything from 30 minutes to 90 minutes.

What is the recovery like after Dermal Filler?

Aftercare will always be prompted post treatment from your injector. Like all Injectable procedures Bruising, Swelling and tenderness can occur, this is completely normal following from this treatment.

When Will I see a result?

You should expect to see an improvement instantly however we always advise the result will be final after 2 weeks – this allows for the bruising, swelling and tenderness to have subsided.

How long do Results last for?

Results should last between 6-9 months, this can however vary from person to person depending on a few lifestyle choices such as, regular sun exposure, use of sunbeds, and smoking. We always advise that you drink at least 2 litres of water daily to keep the Dermal Fillers nice and hydrated.

Am I the right candidate?

This depends on the individual, during your consultation we will discuss at length this procedure and if you are not suitable we may be able to recommend an alternative treatment.

Are there any Risks?

This depends on the individual, at your consultation we will assess if the Dermal Filler treatment is the right Procedure for you. It is important that you disclose all current medication and ailments to ensure we limit any risks.
