The procedure can be used to improve lines on the forehead, around the eyes and mouth area, as well as to provide a brow lift or relief from migraines. As a fast acting, safe procedure, it is still the first choice for many patients wanting to achieve a natural and youthful appearance.
The procedure itself is simple and relatively pain free, with results taking up to two weeks to be effective and typically lasting around 12 weeks.
Botox relaxes the muscles on the face. This not only helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, but also helps prevent the formation of wrinkles, softening your features and making your face look fresher and younger. A Botox treatment from Elements Medical includes a free review and top-up if required between 14-21 days after your initial treatment.
Botox works on the muscle, not the skin. This means any lines or wrinkles at rest on the skin may only soften, and not be removed completely. Combining Botox with other skin treatments will further improve these lines. We strongly advise against any top-ups after six weeks, and generally advise not to leave any more than four months between treatments.
Areas that Botox can treat include:
Botox® is a brand name for the purified form of a plant bacterium called botulinum toxin A. Although Botox® is the most well known brand, there are other brands of botulinum toxin which are equally as effective. Here at Elements Medical, we use a brand called Azzalure.
BOTOX treats the “muscles” that crease the skin as they contact, leading to the development of lines and wrinkles over time. By “reducing” muscle activity, these lines temporarily soften or disappear altogether.
Typically it will take about 10 – 14 days before you start to see results, though this time may vary.
Results can last from 3-5 months and sometimes longer depending on the individual.
This treatment includes a FREE review and top-up if required and this is between 14 – 21 days after treatment. A fee of £20 will apply to any top-up after this time. Strictly no top-ups after 6 weeks.
This depends on the individual, during your consultation we will discuss at length this procedure and if you are not suitable we may be able to recommend an alternative treatment.
This depends on the individual, at your consultation we will assess if Botox® is the right treatment for you. It is important that you disclose all current medication and ailments to ensure we limit any risks.
