A lip flip is a cosmetic procedure that involves injecting a small amount of botulinum toxin, into the muscles around the upper lip. The purpose is to relax the muscles, allowing the upper lip to roll slightly outward and create the appearance of fuller, more prominent lips. It’s a non-surgical and temporary alternative to Lip fillers, which involve injecting dermal fillers to add volume to the lips.

During treatment, we inject Botox into specific muscles, typically the orbicularis oris, which surrounds the mouth and forms the lip. By relaxing this muscle, the upper lip relaxes and rolls outward, exposing more of the upper lip vermilion (the colour of your lip). This can create the illusion of a fuller upper lip without actually adding any volume to it.

If you smile and the lip doesn’t curl but pulls up and shows a lot of your gum, then you would need the gummy smile treatment instead of the Lip Flip. The two treatments differ, as gummy smile is used to reduce how much gum appears when we smile, while the lip flip makes the top lip appear fuller.
