Known as a ‘lunchtime facelift’, PDO threads for face and neck are simple dissolvable stitches that gently lift the face and neck to give a more contoured shape. A non-surgical option, this type of lift was previously only available by using fillers. A PDO thread lift has an advantage over fillers for some patients because no more additional volume is added to the face. This creates a much more natural look.
After the threads have dissolved, the natural ageing process will still take place, but your skin retains some of the lifted appearance. In addition, the threads stimulate new collagen production over time which further adds to the naturally rejuvenated look.
The precision with which the threads can be placed means you choose to have treatment directly where a lift is needed too, rather than lifting the entire face. Areas which can be lifted:
30 - 60 minutes

Swelling and bruising
2 - 3 days
You can go back to work the next day but may prefer to take a day or two off

How long do results last? PDO threads are dissolvable stitches meaning the effect you will get at first is not permanent. The lift will last anywhere from 12-18 months depending on your lifestyle and activity. However, this doesn’t mean you will lose all results – new collagen formed whilst the stiches were in place will stay in place. the treatment can be repeated though for fresh results.
Is it safe? The treatment is very safe but as with any type of treatment, there are small risks. In this case, infection is a small risk, but you will be given advice on how to avoid this with your aftercare advice.
Is it painful? A local anaesthetic is administered to the treatment area so you won’t feel the treatment – however, you will feel a small sting from the anaesthetic.
Will I need to take off work? It is advisable to have a day off work, but you should be fine to return to work the day after treatment. You may have some swelling and bruising which will settle after 7-10 days and shouldn’t be too visible.
