The Glow Facial was developed as Elements Medical’s answer to a genuinely comprehensive facial treatment — one that does not simply cleanse and moisturise but actively resurfaces, stimulates, hydrates and protects the skin through a multi-step protocol that addresses the skin’s appearance on every level simultaneously.
The treatment works because of its layering logic: each step prepares the skin for the next. Cleansing removes barriers. The acid peel accelerates cellular turnover and prepares a receptive surface. Dermaplaning removes vellus hair and residual dead cells to create a smooth canvas. Deep exfoliation refines the surface further. Microneedling drives vitamin actives into the freshly prepared skin and stimulates collagen production from within. The hydrating mask delivers instant moisture and comfort. LED light therapy closes the treatment by calming inflammation, stimulating collagen synthesis and maximising the skin’s healing response to everything that has preceded it. The result is not just the sum of these steps individually — it is their combined effect on a skin that has been progressively prepared and optimised throughout the 70 minutes.
Furthermore, as a signature treatment, the Glow Facial is an accessible entry point into the Elements Medical treatment range — more comprehensive than a traditional facial, less intensive in downtime than a medical resurfacing procedure, and priced to make it a realistic monthly maintenance option as well as a standalone event-day treatment.
Our Doncaster clinic is on Thorne Road with on-site parking, and we welcome patients from across South Yorkshire including Rotherham, Wakefield, Sheffield, Leeds and Barnsley.
The clinical evidence for microneedling (collagen induction therapy) in skin rejuvenation is well established in the peer-reviewed literature. British Journal of Dermatology — microneedling and skin rejuvenation
Step 1 — Cleanse and Prime A thorough double cleanse removes all traces of makeup, SPF, excess sebum and environmental pollutants from the skin surface. A clean, primed canvas is essential for every subsequent step to work at its full potential — this stage is given genuine care rather than treated as a formality.
Step 2 — Peel and Neutralise A choice of glycolic or lactic acid resurfacer is applied to the skin and left for a timed period to accelerate cellular turnover, loosen the bond between dead skin cells and stimulate the dermal renewal response. Glycolic acid (a smaller molecule AHA) penetrates more actively; lactic acid (a larger molecule AHA) is gentler and more hydrating, and more appropriate for sensitive or drier skin types. Your therapist will select the most appropriate option for your skin on the day. The acid is then neutralised and removed cleanly.
Step 3 — Dermaplane Dermaplaning uses a sterile surgical blade drawn precisely across the skin surface to remove the layer of vellus (fine, soft) facial hair and the remaining dead skin cells that the acid peel has loosened. The result is an exceptionally smooth skin surface that immediately looks brighter and feels softer, and that absorbs the active ingredients of subsequent steps significantly more effectively than unplaned skin. Makeup application after dermaplaning is dramatically improved as a secondary benefit.
Step 4 — Deep Exfoliation Following dermaplaning, a luxurious physical exfoliant scrub is applied to the face in a full-face massage, providing a final level of tactile surface refinement that leaves the skin perfectly prepared for the microneedling and vitamin infusion step that follows.
Step 5 — Microneedling with Vitamins A medical-grade microneedling pen creates thousands of controlled micro-channels across the skin surface at a precisely calibrated depth. These micro-channels serve two functions simultaneously: they trigger the skin’s wound-healing and collagen-stimulating response, initiating the fibroblast activation and new collagen synthesis that improves skin firmness, texture and quality over the following weeks; and they create an absorptive pathway for the skin vitamin complex applied simultaneously, allowing the active ingredients to penetrate to the dermis rather than remaining on the surface. Most patients experience a mild tingling or pricking sensation during this step — the topical acid applied in Step 2 contributes some surface anaesthetic effect, and the step is well tolerated.
Step 6 — Hydrating Gel Mask A cooling, calming hydrating gel mask is applied across the full face and gently massaged in, delivering immediate moisture, soothing the skin after the active steps and allowing the active ingredients of the vitamin complex to continue to penetrate and work. The mask stage is also the most relaxing part of the treatment.
Step 7 — Finish and Protect The treatment concludes with a nourishing moisturiser and SPF applied to the skin, sealing in the hydration, supporting the skin barrier and protecting the freshly renewed skin surface from UV exposure. You leave the clinic with skin that is soft, dewy and visibly radiant.
Step 8 — Dermalux LED Light Therapy Dermalux LED light therapy is the final and clinching step of the Glow Facial. A combination of red (633nm) and blue (415nm) light is delivered across the skin — red light stimulating collagen synthesis and supporting the healing response triggered by microneedling; blue light reducing any inflammation and addressing bacteria in congestion-prone skin. The LED step enhances and extends the benefits of every step that has preceded it, accelerating the skin’s regenerative response and improving the overall quality and duration of the result.

The primary purpose of the Glow Facial is to restore the immediate, visible radiance, clarity and skin quality that daily exposure to pollution, dehydration, cellular congestion and accumulated surface damage progressively erodes — through a protocol that addresses all of these in a single 70-minute session. By combining acid resurfacing, dermaplaning, microneedling and LED in a logical, layered sequence, the Glow Facial produces an immediate result that is significantly more comprehensive than any single-modality facial treatment, and that reflects genuinely improved skin health rather than a temporary surface effect.
The Glow Facial is designed as a monthly maintenance treatment as well as a standalone event-day treatment — and for patients who attend monthly, the compounding effect of regular acid resurfacing, microneedling-stimulated collagen production and consistent LED therapy produces a progressive and sustained improvement in overall skin quality, texture and radiance that develops meaningfully over three to six months of regular attendance.
The Glow Facial provides access to the quality and comprehensiveness of a clinical skin treatment programme — combining five distinct active treatment modalities — at a price point that makes monthly maintenance genuinely accessible. For patients who want their skin to look and feel consistently good without committing to intensive procedures or significant downtime, the Glow Facial provides the best possible result within those parameters.
1. Five active treatment modalities in a single 70-minute appointment Acid peel, dermaplaning, physical exfoliation, microneedling with vitamins and LED light therapy — each contributing its own skin improvement mechanism, combined for a result greater than any one treatment alone.
2. Immediate, visible results — walk out with glowing skin The combination of resurfacing, dermaplaning and LED produces an immediate, visible improvement in skin brightness, smoothness and clarity that is apparent to patients and those around them the same day.
3. Suitable for all skin types — tailored at every session The choice of acid peel (glycolic or lactic), the microneedling depth and the LED protocol are all selected for your skin’s specific type and condition on the day, making the Glow Facial appropriate and effective for every skin type.
4. No significant downtime — return to normal activities immediately Mild tightness or dryness the following day is the most that most patients experience. Normal activities, work and social engagements can be resumed immediately after treatment.
5. Collagen stimulation builds progressively with regular sessions The microneedling and LED components of the Glow Facial contribute ongoing collagen stimulation that compounds across a course of monthly treatments — producing improving skin firmness, texture and quality over time, not just a one-session result.
6. Dermaplaning creates the smoothest possible canvas The dermaplaning step produces an exceptionally smooth skin surface that improves makeup application for days after treatment and makes every subsequent active step more effective by removing the barrier of vellus hair and surface cells.
7. An ideal event-day and monthly maintenance treatment The Glow Facial works perfectly as a one-off treatment to look your best before a special occasion, and equally well as a structured monthly maintenance programme for patients who want consistently great skin year-round.
Dull, Lacklustre Complexion
The acid peel, dermaplaning and LED combination attacks skin dullness from three directions simultaneously — removing the dead cell layer, creating a smooth light-reflecting surface, and stimulating cellular renewal and collagen production from within. The result is an immediate and unmistakable brightness that is one of the most consistently reported outcomes of the Glow Facial.
Uneven Skin Texture and Enlarged Pores
Dermaplaning and physical exfoliation smooth the skin surface; microneedling stimulates new collagen around the follicular openings; and the acid peel encourages more even cellular turnover. Together these produce a noticeably refined skin texture and a reduction in the appearance of enlarged pores over a course of treatments.
Fine Lines and Early Skin Ageing
The microneedling step stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin, and the red LED wavelength further supports collagen synthesis — making the Glow Facial progressively effective for fine lines and early skin laxity across a course of monthly sessions.
Congested and Breakout-Prone Skin
The acid peel step helps to decongest pores by dissolving the bonds between accumulated dead cells; dermaplaning removes surface congestion; and the blue LED wavelength targets the bacteria involved in breakout-prone skin and helps to regulate oil production. The Glow Facial is a consistently effective management tool for patients whose skin is prone to congestion and breakouts.
Dehydrated Skin
The hydrating gel mask step delivers targeted moisture to freshly resurfaced and microneedled skin — and the micro-channels created during microneedling allow the hydrating actives to penetrate more deeply than they would on intact skin. Patients with chronically dehydrated skin consistently report improved plumpness and suppleness after the Glow Facial.
The Glow Facial delivers the full 8-step protocol described above, focused on radiance, texture, hydration and collagen stimulation through acid resurfacing, dermaplaning, microneedling and LED.
The Glow & Firm Facial adds a skin-firming step to the protocol — addressing skin laxity and tightening alongside the standard Glow steps.
⚠ Note for clinic: Please confirm what the Glow & Firm firming step involves (e.g. RF, HIFU, specific device or technique) and add a description to this section and the pricing table before publishing. Currently both treatments are priced identically — if the Glow & Firm is a longer or more intensive protocol, the price should be reviewed accordingly.
The HydraFacial uses patented vortex extraction technology to deep-cleanse and unclog pores simultaneously with serum infusion — it is the superior choice when thorough pore extraction is a primary goal alongside hydration and glow.
The Glow Facial combines a broader range of active techniques — acid resurfacing, dermaplaning, microneedling and LED — producing a more comprehensive multi-dimensional improvement in skin quality. It is the superior choice when the goal is maximum overall skin quality improvement, collagen stimulation and radiance in a single comprehensive session.
Both deliver immediate results with no significant downtime. Many patients alternate between the two — HydraFacial for deep extraction months, Glow Facial for more active resurfacing and collagen stimulation months. Your therapist will help you build the most appropriate plan.
The Glow Facial is the treatment Elements Medical built its reputation on — and it reflects our philosophy of delivering clinical-grade results through a combination of the most effective techniques available, performed by trained therapists who adapt every step to each patient’s skin on the day. Every session is personal, every outcome is visible, and every treatment adds up to better skin over time.
Furthermore, the Glow Facial sits within a comprehensive treatment range — from entry-level facials to advanced laser resurfacing and injectable treatments — and your therapist will always be happy to recommend how the Glow Facial fits alongside other treatments in a personalised skin improvement plan. For patients who are new to the clinic and want to understand all their options, the Skin Consultation (£25, redeemable against treatment) is the ideal first step.

The Glow Facial is Elements Medical’s signature 8-step treatment — a 70-minute protocol combining a double cleanse, glycolic or lactic acid peel, dermaplaning, deep exfoliation, microneedling with vitamins, hydrating gel mask, moisturiser and SPF finish, and Dermalux LED light therapy. Each step builds on the previous, producing immediate radiance, improved texture and progressively improving skin quality over a course of monthly sessions.
Yes — the Glow Facial is designed for all skin types. The acid choice (glycolic or lactic), microneedling depth and LED protocol are all adapted to your skin’s specific type and condition on the day of each appointment.
No — however some steps produce noticeable sensations. The acid peel may cause mild tingling; the microneedling step produces a brief prickling sensation. Both are well tolerated by most patients without anaesthetic. If you have any concerns about sensitivity, discuss them with your therapist before the session begins.
The Glow Facial is the standard 8-step signature treatment. The Glow & Firm Facial adds a firming step — please ask at booking for details of the specific technique used. The Total Glow Facial is a further upgrade — please ask at the clinic for details and pricing.
You will see immediate results — brighter, smoother, more radiant skin — as soon as the treatment is complete. These results continue to develop over the following two to four days as the cellular renewal and collagen stimulation initiated by the microneedling and LED steps mature.
Results typically last four to six weeks, depending on lifestyle, skin type and sun exposure. A course of monthly treatments compounds the results progressively — each session building on the skin improvement established by the previous one.
Minimal. The skin may feel mildly tight or dry the day after treatment as the cellular renewal process takes place — this is normal and temporary. Normal activities can be resumed immediately after the treatment. Avoid retinoids and active skincare for 48 hours and apply SPF when outdoors.
A single Glow Facial produces immediately visible results. A course of four sessions at monthly intervals produces compounding improvement in skin quality, collagen density and overall radiance that develops well beyond what a single session achieves. Monthly maintenance thereafter sustains the improved skin standard.
Yes — the Glow Facial combines naturally with skin booster injections, polynucleotides and other regenerative treatments at appropriate intervals for patients who want to address both surface quality (Glow Facial) and deeper structural skin health simultaneously. Your therapist will advise on timing and sequencing.
